went to HC String Ensemble concert last night [ coz Baopeng's playing ;) , muz support friends !] Personally i think it's quite a good concert. The programme was rather good. I love the Osvaldo Golijov's "Last Round". It's such an exciting pieces, full of interation among players as it's performed by 2 string ensemble playing against each other. Ngan and I were wondering why RJCE never got to play such interesting pieces during concert =.=^ [conclusion: we have a boring ViceChair who choose boring pieces. Ngan want to say "heavy" pieces, but it doesn't match with the ViceChair :P]
Their sound is really clear and nice. the only negative point is that their balance is weird. the cellos and basses are so heavy that i can hardly hear the melody sometimes. the second half of the concert was rather heavy too... can't stand pieces that last more than 15 minutes within one movement...
At first i though only Ngan, Sunny, RL and Ngon were coming for the concert. but saw Rayner outside VCH. then realised Joy, Gareth, Shaggy, Shawn, Ivan and Zhaohan [who didn't turn up in the end] ]were coming too. So we took one whole row for the 11 of us ... haha
Funny observation during the concert by me : the RJCE sent exactly 2 ppl from each section to the concert.
Funny observation during the concert by Ngan : The RJCE sent eaxtly one male and one female from each section to the concert.
btw... THOSE WHO ARE SICK SHALL BE BARRED/BANNED FROM ATTENDING ANY CONCERT !!! During the whole DHSSE and HCSE concert, we kept hearing ppl coughing thoughout the concert. It's really irritating and disturbing to both performers and other audiences ... 降低我們欣賞好音樂的好心情 :( 那些人應該都抓去槍斃!! >.<

this is the latest pattern of YO rehearsal, ever after the May concert. We have one practice , then one week break, SYF rhsl and recording, another one week break, a sectional yesterday, and next week we dun have to go for rhsl again. I dun really mind this pattern. But i see no point of practicing as by the next rhsl, i probably forget everything already.
yesterday's sectional is a weird one. I was the only girl in my section =.= Dinah went to Naval Base to see the Hot Naval Boys. [all of us were laughing like mad when we saw her reason for not coming ] Sandra had O'level on Monday [GOOD LUCK SANDRA !!! ] so she had a class to attend. felt quite odd one out. If they told me they are not going in advance, i will skip the rhsl and stay at home ==^ make the whole section purely male.
em... almost forgot at least there is a Queen TianChen with us. So i am not the single out =P
thought abt wearing skirt to YO to scare all of them, coz my brother said i look ok in skirt =P but suddenly rmb that it's quite difficult to play bass with it =.= so give up the idea. [Ben was accusing me for being a liar, coz i told him that idea before...lol 沒聽過唯女子和小人難養也嗎]
We wrote the Postcard for the king. But since Dinah and Sandra are absent, guess can only give him the card 2 weeks later. the guys are not man at all... ask me to be the first one to write x__x... and write stupid msgs on it [well, it's planned to be "mean" msgs, not "stupid" msgs]. anyway, it's juz a card for fun. there is no special occation or event as a reason for us to give the it out...haha. juz wanna make fun of the king.
everyone always said i bully him, though i really dun think so. but maybe i shall try to treat him nicer =.=
the key word is "TRY"
it's not my fault if it fails. =P

went for DHSSE concert on Friday. it's the first time i was sitting down and watching the performance [before that was always there as a performer]. feel really different :P
before the concert started, Sunny and I wanted to go circles to find our seniors and sit with them. But the gatekeeper kept us out, insisted that the circles is only reserve for teachers and VIP. We thought it's quite ridiculous coz our seniors were already inside but why can't we. after a few minutes of argument, we finally realised the password to enter is "alumni" =.= and the circles was so empty that i saw no reason for restricting us out =.=^
the concert was great!! personally i think the senior high chamber was rather out of tune at the high notes, but overall id ok. i love the cello duet concerto by Aaron and Jefferson. they made a good pair together :P My brother led the cello section accompaniment for Mendelssohn, he's not bad, but the piece was a bit too long that made it sound dry.Schindler's List encore was great !! i expected it to be Shimei's solo, but the whole SE blended in really well !!
We kept shouting encores at the end of the concert, expecting Ms Ku to play her famous Lullaby to comfort the seniors' desperation. but she didn't. it's after the concert, at the backstage, then she told us that she thought we were asking the SE to play another Encore pieces, and she wanted to tell us then that there's no more Encore, coz they forgot to practice 月亮代表我的心 xP
Coz it's the first time i went for my brother's concert, as an audience instead of performer, I specially wore a skirt for it [God knows, i had not wore any skirt for more than 10 yrs, except for concerts and school and the one for SYF opening ceremony 3 yrs ago]. My brother said i look ok in it ^___^ maybe i will wear it again for the Hwa Chong chamber concert the coming tuesday :)

wednesday had GP CT...=.=lll essay is OK but i think my compre is very badly done.. i haven't done well in compre for a long~~ time, both Chinese and English =.=lll.
anyway, that's not the point. after the CT, my friends and i waited for 4 hours in school for the weekly bi-cultural talk. this was one of the very rare times that the speaker is good. and every of us enjoyed the talk very much ^_^ we juz love to watch movies [though she spent half of the time trying to start the movie at some exact places she want, while all of us know it's impossible on Window Media Player =.=lll ]
after the talk, Yan Heng, Liyue, Meifen and I walked out the school together. on the way we met 小胖. and he managed to upset Liyue by saying [indirectly] that her jacket is more attractive than her [ FYI: we always call Liyue 美女, coz she is in street dance and has very good figure. moreover, her dream is to become a 名妓...lol]
after left Liyue at bus stop, the 3 of us continued our journey to the Bishan MRT station [not west]. we started gossiping abt Meifen [and the 5 guys around her... this is going to be the next most popular book in the globe]. and we came across Preston [ treasurer for YanHeng's class, My DHS schoolmate and Meifen's CCA vice chair.] by then, YH has no idea how did Meifen know Preston, so he cocked up this story:
[assumption: Meifen and Preston both live in Bedok and always take bus 93 to school]
at that time there is 2 version.... one is mine and one is YH's.
My version:

for some unknown reason, i start to hate school. start hating studies. I used to think sch is a fun place, where you can meet you good friends and learn together. but even since i come into this place, i feel i keep hanging around with people i unfamiliar with, with classmates that i hate, takiung the subjects that i dun want to take, doing things that i dun want to do. everything i do seems to be another mistake i make. everyone wants something from me and expect something from me, yet i can't fulfill all their wants.
i am tired.
i am really stressed abt school works. all teachers say i have the potential to achieve higher than what i am doing now, but i feel i have reached my limits already. no matter how hard i try, my GP still stays at S and my Geography remains at D. I try to save this 2 subjects, in the end, the grades of all my other subjects start dropping, yet the weaker ones are not improving either. I really dunno what to do. but getting more stress and tire day by day.
i missed the days in DHS, where i really enjoy learning and schooling. the environment is so warm and friendly, while everyone here is so cold and selfish, they never think of others, only care for their own goods. they never do their homework, but expect the teachers to spoon feed them. they never listen in class, yet want me to learn them the lecture notes to copy. they keep asking stupid questions and make noises in class, disturb ppl who are keen of learning...
guess my frequency will never match with the ppl here... =.=
school sucks. so is life.

Last Thursdays we had PE again (as usual). Both Sharon Ling and I hate PE (but she said i am always very on for it.... dunno. I really hate sweating). So we were on our usual stroll around the court while the rest of the class were playing Handball.
Then we suddenly came to the idea of changing PE into Music lesson, so we start to link all the music terms with our class:
Since both of us are slacker, Sharon Ling is the Trill and I will be the Appoggiatura [both are there to make the melody looks nice but not yet accompaniment.]
Manpreet is the Melody [coz she is the scorer of the game... almost every goal is score by her]
Yanyi is the Chord I [coz she is an "on" player...]
however, she was injured during the game, so she became Chord I in G [injury]
Avonne is the Chord V [coz she is slightly less on than Yanyi]
however, after she became the Goalkeeper, she always let the opposite team score, so she was quite depressed. Thus become Diminished Chord V
Cat never come for PE [she has Permanent MC]. So we named her Dominant [will always be there =P ]
Haha... PE lesson can be quite interesting too =P

Monday Avonne said she was going to give interview for the next bacth of Chorale exco members, and she asked me for ideas on weird questions. [there's a saying in RJ that interview is the only time you can bully your juniors.]
so we brainstormed for 5 mintues and came out with these questions:
1. Ask the girls to imitate the sound of tuba and guys to imitate piccolo
2. Ask the to choose a note from a scale and explain why you choose it
3. Use your body to show the shape of quaver or crotchet rest
4. Sing a piece in 4 languages [it's chorale interview anyway]
5. Sing a piece, and transport the piece to C minor and sing it again
6. Sing a 4 part melody [it's actually impossible.. unless you have 4 mouths]
heard that Chamber dun have the tradition to ask weird interview questions... maybe they can give it a try next year... haha
tag me if you have any other weird interview questions.... haha. let's make a list to "how to bully you juniors during interview" =P

went out dinner with my mum last night. It's with my aunt's colleague's daughter. she is studying in Canada International School[CIS] in Singapore. fom her, i know about some interesting facts about the differences between [CIS] and government school [RJ]
1. their whole school population is only 200 [ for RJ, just my batch itslef has 1200 students... 12 times of their school]
2. they only do 3 subjects every half an year [ we did alomost every subject everyday]
3. you need to finish English Course in CIS before you can take PE course [it's to prevent you from not understanding the teacher's instructions... i am sure]
4. their lunch costs average $6-7 per meal. [ ours is around $4.. one Japanese set meal with fruit juice somemore]
5. whenever CIS holds a school event, it will rain [hasn't failed for 5 years]
i wonder how does students from CIS going to compete with local students... if they only learn 3 subjects per half year, by the next half of the year they will have forgotten what had they learnt before =.=lll
i also confirmed that RJ is weid... we seemed to be the only shool to have ATM and 7-11 within school.... maybe we shall expect MacDonald to replace Subway soon =P

上午9:23
went for ORA last sat.. it is not that i volunteer myself to walk/jog around RGS.. but the class drew lots and i was one of the lucky three that needed to attend the event [actually i suspected the class cheated coz all chosen ones happened to be in class during the "lucky draw"... =.=lll] i dun even know where is RGS the day before the event!!
at first planned to leave after i got the ORA shirt [the only gd thing abt going for it is you will get the free shirt]. but according to my junior, the teachers will mark attendance again even we come back to RGS [turned out to be not true.. regretted]. so i went on walking with my friends.
it's quite funny to see how different groups of ppl reacted to ORA jogging. The sec1 and 2 RGS girls started the event, and all of them ran really fast, then apparently there was a time lag when sec 3 and 4 RGS girls started, as the first half was running and 2nd half was walking. During RI guys turn, the first few had already started running while the last few was still strolling their way from assembly ground to the tracks. RJ was the best. everyone walked throughout the whole route. so consistent. i felt i was in the competition of "Who walks the slowest" =P
during the whole walk, i was teasing my friend about the guys around her. so the journey wasn't too boring [we actually found it too short for us to have more gossiping =P]. Happened that all the guys around her have some sort of relationships with me too [eg. SL, primary school classmate, secondary school mates...], so we had a lot of fun criticizing the guys... haha
luckily this is the first and the last yr i am going to go for this thing. but it is quite fun... haha. know a lot more about new gossips =P though dun really find it doing any good to my body =.=
hope won't get so unlucky to get myself involve in any of this kind of sch event anymore!!!

Went CIP with Joy 2weeks ago. it's selling program booklets for Singapore's local theater company "WildRice" it's a really fun experience. i got to know more people who are interested in drama, know abt the works of actors, get to interview one of the actress [coz she is selling programme booklets with us] and eventually , we got to watch the play!! It's one of the best CIP deal i ever did [besides flag day, playing in hospice or working in library]
Met some funny people during the CIP. some of them are really nice as they stayed back to help us keep the things even though it's not their duty date then. Some of them are seniors from RJC and they share a lot of experiences abt RJ and Uni life to us. Joy's friend even lend me her PSP to pass my time while we were waiting =P managed to broke all her records in the car racing .. hehehe. also met the old DHS ppl like Charlotte and Kenneth who i actuallt dunno well before this CIP.
the funny part abt the CIP is that i got to know a actress very well. she shared her life as an actress with us, and told us the past and present market for theater productions and actors. She even told me where can i get nice and cheap comics!! [coz both of us are comic lovers... haha]
the most unforgettable event is on the 2nd day of CIP, we were invited to have dinner with all the actors and actresses in the play!! it's so cool coz you can see the ppl tt you usually see on stage or TV only, and you got to know the other side of them =) though it's not at some great restaurant, it's juz at the backstage, with some take away foods got from outside, it's still a great experience =)
i also made friend with one of the ushers there. She said she had ushed for many plays, including the "Phantom of Opera" this year!! becoz of that, she managed to watch it 5 time [coz she was asking ppl not to take photos during the opera or delete their photos] It's really cool to be paid [as an usher ] and watch one of the greatest operas in the world 5 times !! I want to be an usher in future too [ok.. i am really lack of ambition, i shall say something like "i wanna save enough money to watch Phantom of Opera 5 times in VIP seat" instead of that.. but still... =P]
conclusion from the CIP: if you want to sell tickets or programme booklets to others, it's better to target at adults rather than teenagers coz adults are more willing and generous in buying this kind of things, as well as CDs =D
